The soil conservation district is administered
by five board members. Their purpose is to provide for the conservation,
development and proper utilization of the water and soil resources of this
county, and for the control and prevention of soil erosion, and thereby to
preserve natural resources, improve water quality, control floods, prevent
impairment of dams and reservoirs, preserve wildlife, protect public lands,
protect wetlands, and protect and promote the health, safety, prosperity,
and general welfare of the people of this county.
