What is Emergency Management? Emergency Management is a community-wide effort to incorporate all available resources to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. While State and Federal Emergency response organizations exist, disasters impact local citizens and response is primarily performed by local organizations. This includes the coordination of public and private emergency services providers, contingency plans development, training, and public education to save lives and protect property from the effects of all hazards.
Mission Statement The mission of the McNairy County Emergency Management Agency is to develop a comprehensive program that seeks to mitigate the effects of various hazards, to prepare for measures which will preserve life and minimize damage, to respond during emergencies to provide assistance, and to establish a recovery system to return the community to normal status.
